Rolla constructions

We are a family-run earthworks business, managed by local Jake Tayler, working across Warragul, Drouin, Yarragon, Trafalgar and the West Gippsland region. We build and repair the things a rural lifestyle property or farm runs on every day - access roads, dairy tracks, shed pads, dams, drainage and driveways that stay usable through a Gippsland winter.

Most of the work we get called out to started as a small problem that got worse. A soft patch in a track that’s become a hazard. Gravel washing off the driveway every year. A dam that used to hold through summer and now doesn't.

We don’t just patch over the problem, we fix what’s causing it.

Built for the ground we work in

There is a difference between a track that looks good the day it is finished and one that still works after a wet winter and a few thousand crossings. The same is true of a dam. It is not just digging a hole; the catchment, wall, batters, spillway and where the overflow goes all affect how well it works over time.

The country through here holds and moves water in different ways. There is heavy clay across the flats around Warragul and Drouin, steeper ground up towards Buln Buln and Neerim, and paddocks that stay soft long after the rain has stopped.

We build with those conditions in front of us. For tracks and driveways, that means proper formation, material suited to the job and drainage that moves water away instead of letting it sit in the middle. For dams, it means considering the wall, shape, catchment and overflow together, whether we are building a new dam, cleaning one out or carrying out repairs.

The aim is not simply for the work to look finished. It needs to keep working in the ground and weather it was built for.

Our base is Warragul and from there we service; Warragul and surrounds; Drouin, Yarragon, Trafalgar and the wider West Gippsland district and into South Gippsland. We also continue to operate across the Mornington Peninsula and Tyabb on farms, lifestyle and equine acreage.
